AFTERCARE FOR YOUR NEW BROWS

Updated: 5 days ago

Congratulations on your new brows! Aftercare is vitally important and an integral part of the process. It requires work and patience from you. NB: The pigment used will have started oxidising already so expect them to be dark. They will get darker too. You have have a warm orange/red tone to the brows over the next couple of days too, this is a completely normal part of the healing process. You will be taking an aftercare package home with you. It will have cleaning pads and aftercare gel. Today you will need to wash your brows no less than 6 times before the end of the day. This is an important part of the process.

How to manage your brows on day one.

1) Wash your hands

2) Take out 1 cotton pad, wash one brow (we will demonstrate)

3) Dab with tissues in between washes if they are oozing

4) After final wash at night, apply a very small amount of aftercare gel

5) Use a clean pillow case

6) Please do not sleep on your side or tummy

7) On day one, wash one last time and apply gel twice a day for the next 7 days

For the next 7 days please follow the following.

1) Do not scrub brows

2) Avoid getting them wet

3) In the shower, try and keep direct spray off them

4) No beauty therapy treatments

5) No spa/sauna/swimming

6) Avoid sun exposure for 30 days

7) Do not sweat! (avoid strenuous exercise for 7 days)

Your brows are not complete yet. The first treatment is to lay the foundations and see how your skin heals. Everyone is different. Different skin types/lifestyles heal differently. Both Tiina and I are both conservative. This means you may be likely to come back with lighter brows than you expect. This is not a bad thing, it is this way so we can see how your skin responds to the tattoo before we go in guns a blazin! Please do not compare your brows to anyone else’s. You may have some asymmetry, thats OK. This can be due to swelling and inflammation. It will all be reassessed at your second appointment. Your second appointment should ideally be 5-6 week after your first one. We suggest you book this as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. There is a small percentage of people that will not retain much pigment at all. Although this is uncommon, it still happens. Some people will still need to use a brow pencil to get the desired look.
